"here's to the nights that turned into mornings,...
Last Tuesday, my friends asked me if I wanted to go away with them for the weekend to Venice and Florence and I just said yes without even thinking or knowing anything about either of the two places. Well, it was probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! We took a 7 hour long overnight train Thursday night which got us to Venice at about 6:30 AM on Friday. The overnight train was...

"You only live once, but if you do it right, once...
After a wonderful day in Venice, we took a train to Florence to spend the rest of our weekend there. We got there around dinner time which was perfect because we were all starving after our three hour train ride. In my post about London, I mentioned how I never wanted to stay in a hostel again, but after our luck in Venice, I wasn’t too worried about staying in one in Florence. Luckily, we...

first couple days in roma!
So I figured out that the difference between romE and romA is that romA is the way the italians say it and even though I’m not Italian, I’m going to say it anyway :) After we got through the painful experience of getting here, every second since we’ve been here has been absolutely amazing, basically indescribable. Our orientation was basically just a walking tour so we could...

CIAO!
Sooooo I’m finally settled in Romaaaa! (still trying to figure out the difference between Roma and Rome) I just got my computer back this morning from the tech guy having it all weekend to put wifi on for me. That’s why it’s taken me so long to post something on here. Annnyway, if you all haven’t heard by now, getting here was an absolute nightmare. We left Paris at 5:30...

last night in paris!
I know I’ve said it a hundred times, but I can’t get over the fact that this is the last time I will sleeping (in my extremely comfortable bed) in Paris. After dinner, the girls and I went for drinks to reminisce on the past five weeks. It seems like we just got here but seems like I’ve lived here forever at the same time. Leaving is definitely bitter sweet but I am sooooooo...

top five reasons why i'm going to miss paris
1. Breakfast on campus Every morning, I have two baguettes, a bowl of cereal, a cup of yogurt, and one or two fruits. It doesn’t sound too extraordinary but I really looked forward to it every morning. 2. 70% off sales I  really didn’t go shopping as much as I wanted to but when I did, the sales were unbeatable. I got some really great things that I probably could have gotten in...

The fence of Love
Today, I finally did the thing I’ve been wanting to do since the first week I got here! There is a fence on a bridge above the Seine river that is full of hundreds of locks. The locks represent people being “locked in love.” From the second I saw it and heard what it was about, I automatically knew I wanted to put a lock on there for Chris and me. And how perfect that today is...

My first European post :) very long overdue!
So, I’ve been in France for just about a month now and I was planning on making a blog before I even got here but never actually got around to it, so I have a lot to catch up on! It still hasn’t hit me that I’m living in Europe and won’t be back “home” until May. I put home with quotations because this is my home now, which i’m obviously NOT complaining...
